The Simmonds Foundation provides grants to individuals and organisations facing hardship due to youth, age, ill-health, disability or financial disadvantage โ and helps advance education through scholarships and grants.
The Simmonds Foundation is a grant-making charity dedicated to relieving need across England. We support people facing hardship because of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial difficulty, or other disadvantage โ and we help advance education by funding scholarships, maintenance allowances, and grants to universities and educational institutions.
We work primarily through grantmaking: distributing funds directly to individuals in need and to other charities and organisations doing work that prevents and relieves hardship.
Everything we do falls under two core purposes set out in our governing document.
Grants to individuals facing hardship due to youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial difficulty or other disadvantage.
Scholarships, maintenance allowances, and grants to students and educational institutions, including support for facilities and projects.
Grants to organisations working to prevent or relieve financial hardship and disadvantage across their communities.
Individuals or organisations experiencing need, or educational costs, can reach out to us to explain their circumstances.
Our trustees consider each request against our charitable objects and the funds available.
Where a request fits our purposes, we award a grant directly to the individual or organisation.
We welcome enquiries from individuals facing hardship, students seeking educational funding, and charities whose work relieves need. Tell us your situation and we'll let you know how we can help.
